CONTAMINATION

Contamination, a major problem for Indian cotton, is the main reason for lower Indian cotton prices when compared to that of cotton from the rest of the world given the same quality parameters. At Kaveri, we continuously try to reduce contamination levels throughout all stages of our production.

Soon, Kaveri Group plans to install Vetal scanner to reduce cotton contamination and provide the least contaminated cotton to our customers.

How we are trying to handle this issue at our group:

STAGE 1 - Educating

Farmers not to use polypropylene / jute bags to transport cotton from field to factory. Labor to follow strict practices that will not add any additional waste (for example wrappers) to the cotton heaps.

STAGE 2 - Examining

Physical and extensive examination of the cotton heaps by ground level labor to remove plastic threads manually.

STAGE 3 - Deploying

We deploy specialized team and machinery to avoid seed cut fragments in the bales throughout the ginning process.

STAGE 4 - Packaging

Apt Packaging and storing facilities to eliminate the interaction with all forms of contaminants.

Raw Cotton Bales

The raw cotton procured is first cleaned and then processed by our highly modernized ginning machines, which separates the lint from the seed and the lint is finely pressed into bales of 170 kgs each. Packing a product with right material helps in maintaining the quality of the product as it is produced.

Kaveri Oil Industries was established in the year 2008. We are proud to have the biggest cotton oil mill in Telangana located at Siddipet. With two state-of-the-art oil mills in Telangana, after separating seed from lint in ginning process, we extract quality cotton seed crude oil and cotton cake from the seed.
